jjamppong (짬뽕)
What is it?
A Korean spicy seafood noodle soup with Chinese roots, built on a fiery red broth of gochugaru and shellfish. Introduced by Chinese immigrants as a dry stir-fried noodle dish, it evolved over time into the soup commonly known today. A staple of Korean-Chinese restaurant menus alongside jjajangmyeon.
