Okinawa chanpurū (チャンプルー) comes from Okinawan home cooking, shaped by Chinese trade influence, Ryukyuan court cuisine, and later Japanese and American presence. The word chanpurū means “mixed,” and the technique is a dry stir-fry, often with tofu.
